A simple way to slow down today

Happy Tuesday, Reader!

Yesterday, we stepped outside for what I thought would be just a few minutes.

No big plans. No structured activity.

I honestly just needed a breath of fresh air.

But then something sweet happened.

The kids started noticing things I usually rush past—ants carrying crumbs, the shape of leaves, the way the wind moved the trees.

One of them asked a question I didn’t know the answer to… and instead of rushing to Google it, we just wondered together.

(Yes, we Googled it later).

And for a moment, everything felt calm.

It reminded me that learning doesn’t always need a big plan. Sometimes it just needs space.

That’s why I love having simple, gentle tools on hand—something that adds to the moment without taking it over.

If you want something easy to pair with those quiet outdoor moments, I made these Earth Day worksheets for preschoolers.

They’re simple, low-pressure, and designed to help kids notice what’s already around them.

Just remember, learning doesn’t have to be loud or complicated to be meaningful.

And the best memories (and the deepest learning) often happen when we slow down enough to notice what’s already in front of us.

You’re doing more than you think you are.

With love,

Micah

Happy Tuesday, Reader! This morning started with spilled milk… literally. Half my kids couldn’t find their shoes, the other half wanted an extended weekend, and I stood there in the kitchen thinking, it's a Monday. Have you ever felt that before the day even really begins? I remember leaning against the counter, closing my eyes for just a second, and whispering, “Lord, it's you and me today. I've only got this because you're with me.” And you know what didn’t happen? The house didn’t suddenly...
