Before Summer Slips Away

Happy Tuesday, Reader!

The other day, one of my kids said something that made us all laugh.

It was one of those little comments that probably would've disappeared into the busyness of life, except we all stopped long enough to enjoy it.

And it made me wonder how many beautiful little moments we've already forgotten this summer.

Not the big vacations.

Not the expensive outings.

The tiny memories.

Sticky popsicle fingers.

Late-night walks to catch lightning bugs.

The bedtime conversations that only happen after the lights are off.

Those are the moments that quietly become our favorite family treasures.

As moms, we're usually the ones making summer happen.

We pack the snacks, wash the swimsuits, and remind everyone to wear sunscreen.

It's easy to spend so much time creating memories that we forget to capture them.

One day, our children won't remember every date on the calendar.

But they'll remember how summer felt.

The laughter.

The adventures.

The ordinary Tuesdays that somehow became extraordinary.

That's why I love keeping simple journal prompts nearby.

They don't require perfection or long journal entries.

Just a few thoughtful questions can help you remember the stories your family will smile about years from now.

If you'd love an easy way to help your children reflect on their favorite summer memories before the season slips away, I put together a collection of fun prompts you can use together.

I hope they spark meaningful conversations around your table and help your family hold onto this sweet season just a little longer.

Happy Tuesday, Reader! A few nights ago, I looked at the calendar on my desk and realized something that made my heart sink just a little. I'd be turning to the next month in a few days because summer is slipping away. And it's not because we didn't do enough. We had popsicles that melted faster than little hands could eat them. We stayed up too late watching outdoor plays. We made memories I know my children won't remember perfectly, but they'll remember how they felt. Still, there's that...

Happy Tuesday, Reader! A few days ago, I looked at my weather app and laughed. Not because anything was funny. Because the weather app cheerfully informed me it was "perfectly sunny"... while it felt hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. My youngest looked at me and asked if he could play outside. Five minutes later we were back inside. Red cheeks. Sweaty hair. And suddenly the house felt about three sizes smaller. If you're in that season too, I see you. The endless chorus of "I'm...

Happy Tuesday, Reader! I walked into Walmart and had to squint my eyes. There were rows and rows of the brightest colors of notebooks, folders, and backpacks. I love this time of year! There's just something magical about the clean smell of a bundle of pencils and Lisa Frank notebooks. And each school year feels like a second chance. To teach my kiddos a new subject. To start a new book. And even for myself, to learn something new. This year, my littles have their curriculums and classes. And...
