Free Thanksgiving coloring pages for you

Happy Monday, Reader!

I was weaving in and out of aunts and uncles to sneak a peek at the pumpkin pie when I saw it.

The golden turkey and grandpa with a knife.

My nine year-old tummy rumbled.

And while the next 20 minutes felt like forever as grandma and grandpa invited everyone to go around the table and share one thing we’re grateful for, I couldn’t help but think about how good that turkey’s going to taste.

My grandparents have since passed away.

And as I grew older, I realized Thanksgiving is less about the food and more about appreciating the people and blessings in our lives.

But how do we teach this to children, especially in a world full of distractions, materialism, and dare I say ‘distracting golden turkeys’?

One way to teach them the true meaning of Thanksgiving is by including Bible verses into the holiday celebrations.

They can be as simple as the coloring pages you can grab for free in this post, your favorite scripture on the wall, or sharing a spiritual message at the dinner table.

But more importantly, these verses can serve as reminders for children to be grateful for all that they have, and to show kindness and love towards others.

You can use these printables during quiet time, before dinner, or even while driving to visit family.

And the coloring pages are PERFECT for keeping their little hands busy as they reflect on what these verses mean.

With heartfelt thanks,

Micah

Happy Monday, Reader! When my 4 year-old Flynn opened the door and found a refrigerator sized package waiting for him, he thought it was Christmas. (It was from Target after all). We brought the box inside, opened it up, and his face fell at least three feet. "Toilet paper?!" He turned and walked away. So, when a smaller package in the mail came the next day with his name on it, he wasn't buying it. Inside? A handful of beautifully illustrated, wholesome books—completely free (shh... he...

Happy Monday, Reader! "Why are we leaving food on the front porch? Is it for the bears?" I had to smile at my 6 year-olds honest question. She was a little puzzled when we filled up a grocery bag and left it hanging off the handle of our mailbox. It's been a few years since she asked this question. Now the kids know to watch for this day every year. Because sometimes food scarcity doesn't look like empty cupboards. Sometimes it looks like a hardworking family just trying to make their can of...
