It was shinier than the sun🌞

“I don’t like that outfit.”

My daughter and I were at our favorite clothing store. She was tearing through the racks like a hungry lion.

She had to find the perfect outfit.

I asked her. “Okay, what about this one?”

She gave me a shoulder shrug.

“Oooh, this one is awesome!”

My eleven going on twenty-year-old girl held up a shirt shinier than the surface of the sun.

I think I went a little blind.

"This one is PERRRRFECT!"

Yes, there's two times a year my kids get clothes.

Usually around Christmas time with winter pajamas they outgrew from last year.

And back to school time because they have holes in all the shirts, pants, and socks from last year.

The shocking thing is an article from Time Magazine said most parents are spending $800+ per kid this year.

😬😬😬

Yea, that's a big no thanks.

You don't wear your receipts to show-off how much you spend.

And quite honestly, no one will remember what you or your kids wear...ever.

Yes, you can still be fashionable and wear cute clothes, but these are the smart ways to save money on back to school clothes.

Give today's post a read for the 5 tricks my family uses each year.

With 5 kids under 11, we average $200 total ($40ish per kid) with coats, underwear, socks, shirts, pants, and shoes.

After you learn what we do, let me know if you do the same or if there's another way you save big every year.

With love,

Micah

Happy Thursday, Reader! “I’m bored.” I heard it three times before breakfast the other day. And if I’m honest, my first instinct was to fix it.To jump in with ideas, solutions, something to fill the gap. Because as moms, we feel this quiet pressure to make sure our kids are always learning, always doing, always okay. But this time, I paused. Because I’ve started to notice something: boredom isn’t the problem we think it is. It’s actually the beginning of possibility for them. A few minutes...

Happy Thursday, Reader! Yesterday, we stepped outside for what I thought would be just a few minutes. No big plans. No structured activity. I honestly just needed a breath of fresh air. But then something sweet happened. The kids started noticing things I usually rush past—ants carrying crumbs, the shape of leaves, the way the wind moved the trees. One of them asked a question I didn’t know the answer to… and instead of rushing to Google it, we just wondered together. (Yes, we Googled it...

Happy Thursday, Reader! This morning started with spilled milk… literally. Half my kids couldn’t find their shoes, the other half wanted an extended weekend, and I stood there in the kitchen thinking, it's a Monday. Have you ever felt that before the day even really begins? I remember leaning against the counter, closing my eyes for just a second, and whispering, “Lord, it's you and me today. I've only got this because you're with me.” And you know what didn’t happen? The house didn’t suddenly...
