Something fun for today

Happy Monday, Reader!

There are certain October afternoons I wish I could bottle up.

The kids are home.

The house is a little messier than usual.

Someone is probably asking for a snack while someone else is telling a very dramatic story about something that happened five minutes ago.

And somehow, in the middle of all that ordinary chaos, there are these tiny moments that feel like childhood.

And it's these moments where I feel a little sad in my heart because I think sometimes we make holidays harder than they need to be.

We don't need elaborate crafts, Pinterest-perfect parties, or a calendar packed from morning until bedtime to make October special.

Sometimes, the sweetest memories come from something incredibly simple.

Like sitting together with a pencil and a word search, looking for words like pumpkin, ghost, candy, and spooky while everyone laughs about who found the hardest one first.

And as a homeschool mom, I especially love when something that feels like play quietly sneaks in a little learning, too.

Word searches can help children practice reading, spelling, and word recognition while giving them a fun reason to slow down and focus.

So if you're looking for a simple Halloween activity to pull out this week, I've gathered 14 Halloween word searches for kids, and they're completely free.

No complicated prep. No giant supply list.

Just print one, grab some pencils, and enjoy a little October magic together.

Here's to making room for the little moments they'll remember.

With love,

Happy Monday, Reader! Let’s be honest. You probably don’t need another thing on your to-do list. But you might need something taken off of it. Especially when it comes to Activity Days, or your Children's ministry. Because coming up with an activity sounds simple... until you realize you need an idea that is fun, faith-filled, age-appropriate, and actually possible to pull together. Every. Single. Week. That’s a lot of mental energy. And you shouldn’t have to spend your evening searching for...

Happy Monday, Reader! There’s something about October that makes me want to slow down. The cooler mornings and the changing colors are some of my favorite. And then I remember that we’re supposed to decorate the car for trunk or treat. Sometimes its for a church activity. And other times it's for a community event. If you’ve ever looked at your trunk and thought, “What am I going to do with this?” you’re not alone. You want our fall festivities to feel fun and magical. But we don’t always...

Happy Monday, Reader! Sometimes the hardest part isn’t loving your littles. It’s coming up with something to do. You want Activity Days, or your Children's ministry, to feel meaningful. You want your littles to laugh, learn, grow, and feel closer to God. But then Wednesday afternoon arrives. And suddenly you’re staring at your calendar wondering, “What are we going to do this week?” You search Pinterest. You scroll through old ideas. You save something for later. And somehow, planning the...
