You’re planting something bigger

Happy Thursday, Reader!

This morning felt slow in the best way.

We stepped outside, and the air was soft.

My kids immediately ran toward the grass in the front yard, noticing things I probably would have missed if I were alone.

A tiny flower.

A buzzing bee (my 7-year old screaming at the sight of a bug).

And as I watched them, I had this quiet thought:

This is what matters.

Not the perfectly planned days.
Not the full to-do lists.
Not even the things I didn’t get done yesterday.

Just this.

Noticing God’s creation.

Letting my children explore the world He made with wonder and joy.

It reminded me that we are doing something so meaningful as moms.

We’re not just raising children.

We’re shaping how they see the world.

When we slow down and point out beauty… when we let them ask questions…

We are planting seeds that will last a lifetime.

And the beautiful part?

It doesn’t require anything extra from you.

You don’t need a perfect plan for today.

You don’t need to do something big.

Just step outside.

Take a breath.

Notice something small with your child.

That’s enough.

More than enough.

So today, I just want to remind you:

You are doing holy work in the ordinary moments.

And your children are learning more from your presence than anything else.

If you have a moment today, go outside together.

Sit in the sun.

Walk in the grass.

Watch the clouds.

Let it be simple.

Let it be good.

And let your heart rest in knowing—you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

With love,

Micah

Happy Thursday, Reader! I didn’t expect something so simple to bring so much joy. We were sitting at the table, and I could tell my child just wasn’t feeling it that day. You know those moments… when you have the best intentions, but little hearts just aren’t interested? So instead of pushing through, I reached for something different. Something playful. Something light. That’s when everything shifted. The moment those little hands started popping, counting, and exploring… the mood completely...

Happy Thursday, Reader! We live in a world that measures everything. Productivity. Progress. Perfection. But God doesn’t measure us that way. Isaiah 40:11 says, “He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom…” Carry them. Not rush them. Not pressure them. Carry them. That includes you, too. You're not failing because you’re tired. You're not falling behind because life feels full. You're being carried by a Savior who sees every...

Happy Thursday, Reader! There was a moment last week I almost missed. One of my little ones sat at the table, quietly tracing a circle. No “look at me, Mom.” Just small hands, focused, trying again after the line didn’t come out right the first time. And it hit me… the best learning looks like quiet persistence. As moms, we can feel pressure to do more. More activities. More structure. More “Pinterest-worthy” moments. But what our kids really need is simple, meaningful practice—and us...
