A few years ago, I remember watching my child walk out the door with a little more independence than I felt ready for.

It was exciting, but if I’m honest, it was also terrifying.

Because raising kids today feels different.

We’re not just teaching them how to ride bikes, make good choices, or be kind.

We’re also helping them navigate a world of texts, social media, online conversations, and things they can accidentally stumble across before they’re emotionally ready.

And as parents, we can’t be everywhere.

We can’t see every conversation.

We can’t monitor every text.

We can’t always know when our kids need help unless they feel safe enough to tell us.
