A Prayer For This Year

Happy Wednesday, Reader!

The other morning, I found myself standing in the middle of our homeschool room surrounded by stacks of books, fresh pencils, drywall, and curriculum I was excited (and maybe a little nervous) to begin.

There is something beautiful about a new homeschool year.

The blank pages.

The fresh starts.

The excitement of watching our children learn something new.

But if I'm honest, a new year also brings a lot of questions.

Will I be patient enough?

Will I teach them what they need to know?

Will I notice the moments when they need more encouragement?

Will I create a home where they feel loved, safe, and supported?

Because homeschooling isn't just about lessons and assignments.

It's about our hearts.

It's about the little conversations at the kitchen table, the prayers whispered during hard days, and the countless moments when we choose grace over perfection.

And while we can spend hours choosing the right curriculum, organizing our schedules, and preparing our learning spaces, one of the most powerful things we can do for our children is pray.

We can ask God to guide our teaching.

To strengthen our patience.

To help our children grow not only in knowledge but in faith, kindness, and wisdom.

The beautiful thing about prayer is that we don't have to carry this homeschool journey alone.

God is already there — in the joyful moments, the challenging days, and every ordinary lesson in between.

If you’re preparing for a new homeschool year, I put together some back-to-school prayer quotes to encourage you and give you words to pray over your children.

❤️ You can find them here.

Praying for you and your homeschool this year.

With love,

Micah

Happy Wednesday, Reader! A few years ago, I remember watching my child walk out the door with a little more independence than I felt ready for. It was exciting, but if I’m honest, it was also terrifying. Because raising kids today feels different. We’re not just teaching them how to ride bikes, make good choices, or be kind. We’re also helping them navigate a world of texts, social media, online conversations, and things they can accidentally stumble across before they’re emotionally ready....

Happy Wednesday, Reader! A few years ago, I sat at my kitchen table surrounded by papers, crayons, and a child who was asking me questions faster than I could answer them. I remember looking at the stack of things I thought I needed to do as a mom and feeling overwhelmed. Was I doing enough? Was I teaching the right things? Was I missing something important? Maybe you’ve had a moment like that too. The truth is, motherhood comes with a lot of pressure. We want to give our children every...

Happy Wednesday, Reader! The other day, one of my kids said something that made us all laugh. It was one of those little comments that probably would've disappeared into the busyness of life, except we all stopped long enough to enjoy it. And it made me wonder how many beautiful little moments we've already forgotten this summer. Not the big vacations. Not the expensive outings. The tiny memories. Sticky popsicle fingers. Late-night walks to catch lightning bugs. The bedtime conversations...
