The handwriting struggle

Happy Thursday, Reader!

A few years ago, I watched my child grip a pencil and struggle to write their name.

The letters were wobbly.

The spacing was everywhere.

And I could see the frustration building with every attempt.

Maybe you’ve been there too.

You sit beside your child, wanting to encourage them, but you can feel their confidence slipping away.

You want learning to feel exciting for them because you don't want another battle at the kitchen table.

I remember reminding myself that handwriting isn’t just about making pretty letters.

It’s about helping our children learn, “I can do hard things.”

The beautiful thing about handwriting is that it grows with practice.

Those tiny improvements, like the first time they write a letter correctly, the first time they finish a page without giving up, these are moments worth celebrating.

That’s why I created our Handwriting Practice Workbook Bundle.

It’s designed to gently guide children from the very beginning stages of forming letters all the way through more advanced handwriting skills.

Whether your child is just learning how to hold a pencil or needs extra practice to build confidence, or you want them to learn the ancient art of writing in cursive, these pages provide a simple, encouraging way to practice.

Because sometimes our children don’t need more pressure.

They just need the right tools, a little patience, and someone cheering them on.

If your child could use extra handwriting practice that feels calm, simple, and confidence-building, you can take a look at the workbook bundle here:

Here’s to celebrating every little step forward.

With love,

Micah

Happy Thursday, Reader! A few years ago, I remember sitting at my kitchen table surrounded by books, papers, half-finished snacks, and the beautiful chaos that comes with raising children. I had a list of things I needed to get done. The laundry was waiting. The dishes were multiplying.Someone needed help with an assignment.Someone else was asking for a snack… again. And somewhere between trying to teach, clean, nurture, and keep everyone moving forward, I realized something: I was taking...

Happy Thursday, Reader! A few summers ago, I learned something important: Sometimes the smallest things can bring the biggest smiles. It wasn’t a big vacation. It wasn’t an expensive outing. It was something much simpler. It was a soda. The kind where the kids are laughing around the counter and everyone is debating the perfect combination of flavors. The moments where a simple drink becomes a memory. Maybe that’s why dirty sodas have become such a beloved tradition for so many people....

Happy Thursday, Reader! A few years ago, I remember sitting at my kitchen table surrounded by papers, lesson plans, and a growing pile of things I hadn’t finished. My heart was full because I loved my children. I loved the idea of creating meaningful learning moments with them. But if I’m honest, I also felt tired. There is a quiet pressure that many moms carry. The feeling that we should be doing more, creating more, teaching more, and somehow making every day magical. But here’s what I’ve...
