Just Two Ingredients

Happy Wednesday, Reader!

Can you believe we're over half way through the month of October?

How are you feeling?

Are you feeling ready for Halloween, or are you looking at the calendar wondering how it got here so quickly?

Sometimes, I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to make these moments magical that we forget something important.

You have permission to keep things simple.

Because years from now, your littles probably won’t remember whether the decorations matched or whether you made everything Pinterest-perfect.

But they may remember standing beside you in the kitchen.

They may remember making their own little Halloween treats and feeling like they were part of something special.

That’s one of my favorite things about simple traditions.

They don’t require a lot of money, time, or planning.

Sometimes, all they require is a few minutes and a willingness to make a little mess together.

And if you’re looking for something fun to make with your kids this Halloween, I have the sweetest idea for you.

These Chocolate Spiders require just 2 ingredients, take only a few minutes to make, and there’s no oven required.

They’re simple enough for little hands to help with and delicious enough that you might want to make an extra batch.

Because sometimes the sweetest Halloween memories are the ones we make together.

Micah

Happy Wednesday, Reader! What if you could get your child to practice writing without hearing, “Do I have to?” No worksheets. No nagging. No battle over getting those sentences onto the page. Just a little Halloween magic and a child whose imagination is suddenly running wild. Because some of the best learning happens when our kids are having so much fun that they don’t even realize they’re learning. That’s why Halloween can be such a fun opportunity to pull out a pencil and let their...

Happy Wednesday, Reader! You know that thought you had during your scripture study? The one you meant to write down? And then someone called your name. The laundry needed switching. Dinner needed making. And five minutes later, the thought was gone. I've done this more times than I can count. Sometimes I want to remember a verse. Sometimes I need to work through a prayer. Sometimes I just have a lot going on inside my head and need somewhere to put it. That's exactly why I created Be Still....

Happy Wednesday, Reader! There’s something about Halloween with kids that makes the ordinary feel a little more magical. The excitement starts days (or maybe weeks!) before Halloween. The costumes come out. Pumpkins begin appearing on the porch. Someone inevitably starts asking how many days are left. And in the middle of all the candy, costumes, parties, and excitement, I love finding little ways to slow down and enjoy the season together. Sometimes that looks like sitting at the kitchen...
