You Need A Quiet Place

Happy Thursday, Reader!

There are days when your mind feels full before your feet even hit the floor.

The list is already growing.

The dishes need attention.

Someone needs you.

And somewhere in the middle of caring for everyone else, you realize you haven't given yourself much room to simply be.

Not productive.

Not needed.

Just still.

I've found that sometimes, I don't need another complicated routine.

I just need a place to sit with my thoughts.

A place to write down the Scripture that keeps coming back to me.

A place to pour out a prayer that doesn't quite have the right words yet.

A place where I can slow down long enough to notice what God may be trying to teach me.

That's one of the reasons I love keeping a notebook nearby.

There's something comforting about putting pen to paper and giving your thoughts somewhere to land.

You don't have to fill pages every day.

You don't have to write something profound.

You can simply begin with a verse.

A question.

A prayer.

Or even, "Today, I'm tired."

And let that be enough.

If you're craving a little more space for Scripture, prayer, notes, and the thoughts that are usually lost in the busyness of your day, I created Be Still notebook with those quiet moments in mind.

It doesn't ask you to do more.

It simply gives you a place to pause.

Micah

Happy Thursday, Reader! I remember how seriously children take Halloween. A costume isn’t just a costume. For a little while, you really are the princess, the superhero, the dinosaur, or the dragon. And every shadow seems a little darker when you’re wearing a costume and carrying a bucket full of candy. But Halloween also gives us a beautiful opportunity to talk with children about the things that really scare them. What do we do when we’re afraid? Where do we turn when we’re tempted? How do...

Happy Thursday, Reader! There are certain October afternoons I wish I could bottle up. The kids are home. The house is a little messier than usual. Someone is probably asking for a snack while someone else is telling a very dramatic story about something that happened five minutes ago. And somehow, in the middle of all that ordinary chaos, there are these tiny moments that feel like childhood. And it's these moments where I feel a little sad in my heart because I think sometimes we make...

Happy Thursday, Reader! Let’s be honest. You probably don’t need another thing on your to-do list. But you might need something taken off of it. Especially when it comes to Activity Days, or your Children's ministry. Because coming up with an activity sounds simple... until you realize you need an idea that is fun, faith-filled, age-appropriate, and actually possible to pull together. Every. Single. Week. That’s a lot of mental energy. And you shouldn’t have to spend your evening searching...
